What Cancer Cannot Do

Cancer is so limited
It cannot cripple love
It cannot shatter hope
It cannot erode faith
It cannot eat away peace
It cannot destroy confidence
It cannot kill friendship
It cannot shut out memories
It cannot silence courage
It cannot invade the soul
It cannot reduce eternal life
It cannot quench the spirit
It cannot lesson the power of the resurrection

If an incurable disease has invaded your life, refuse to let it touch your spirit. Your body can be severely afflicted and you may have a great struggle. But if you keep trusting God's love, your spirit will remain strong. Why must You bear this pain? I cannot tell, I only know my Lord does all things well, and so I trust in God my all in all. For He will bring me through what ever befalls. Our greatest enemy is not disease but despair.
I suffered for a long time, I was actually suffering before I found out I had cancer. Then I found God and accepted His son Jesus into my heart. Life is different now. I dont have cancer anymore (though its shadow lingers), I pray about everything, and put my heart into everything I do, as everything I do is for Him. I am totally becoming what Pastor Buddy would call a C3 person! I picked up the Bible for the first time since I was a kid just a few short months ago. I started with The Message, then my husband went to NC with me and recieved a copy of The New Believers Bible, so I have been reading that. Does anyone have any tips on putting it all together?

Hi Michon,
I read your comment on Pastor Buddy's blog, which then led me to your blog. I wanted to thank you for the comment you made and the encouragement. I'm also a miracle cancer survivor....Ewings Sarcoma bone cancer as a teen with 25% chance survival rate...remission for 11 years! Attitude is everything! God has a plan for both of our lives. We aren't in control...just along for the ride. I was led to Christ through my illness as well. My husband and I have been attending Northway for 5 months now and are soooo thankful for it. What a blessing the church as been in our lives. You're in my prayers...maybe we can meet sometime!

Hi Mandy! I am glad you found me. originally I thought Pastor Buddies post asked us to share those moments and also what miracles we need and what we want the church to pray for us. But I think after I wrote that "book" of a comment, he changed it!!! I am new at this blog stuff!
Wow! a 25% chance? are you kidding me? I don't know what I would have done! And in remission for 11 years! God does have a plan for us! So, I have been attending Northway for about 6 months now, my husband is on his 1st month! He was raised in a strict Catholic home, so this has been a totally different world for him! He loves it! Anyway, I would love to meet sometime! We usually attend in Clifton Park at 10am, unfortunately, this is my weekend to work :( 7am to 7pm. We have been to Malta once on a Saturday evening. We are equally close to both locations. At any rate, keep in touch in the mean time, and I shall do the same. We can work out the details later!
